I weave with many natural yarns but especially with hand-dyed silk, a versatile yarn which ranges from matte and slubby to shiny and iridescent and dyes wonderfully to give a vast range of colour. I use simple weave structures to allow the silk in combination with many beautiful new man-made yarns to produce interesting textures, draping and handling qualities. All my scarves have unique characteristics and each one is subtly different, making them very exciting for me to weave and a one-off scarf for the wearer.
